1 – The Drowned Forest
2 – Come Live With Me
As I traverse The Drowned Forest I stumble East to West
I move further from the lights of home, I’ve gone so far
As I go deeper into dusk I slip from all of your sights
I move further from the rights and wrongs: The concrete, the neon, and the glass
The grass underfoot, so green!
It grows up and in-between my toes and draws me down into the soil
As I become at one with her I feel the roots of the soil stir
We’ve grown so far from what we were we risk loosing it all
The grass underfoot, so green
It grows up and in-between my toes and draws me down
Into the grass underfoot, so green, growing between
It keeps growing, drawing me down into the soil
And I’ve become an agent of her, a signpost to the truth
Left buried here for all to see, to see where we went wrong
“Come Live With Me” written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant,
